T.J. Kohler of Barnhart, Mo., chows down on a chicken kabob and a bowl of strawberries at the 30th Annual Strawberry Festival on May 18 at St. Jacob, Ill. The annual festival is organized by the St. Jacob United Church of Christ, and besides serving up strawberries and strawberry pie and strawberry shortcake and strawberries with ice cream, the folks grill up some mighty tasty bratwursts and hot dogs and chicken kabobs. The festival also features its popular bike ride, Corvette displays and live music. Kids can't get bored, because there's always plenty of fun and games. And vendors are on hand each year, selling such crafts as jewelry, basketry, birdhouses and a lot more. The weather was nearly perfect for this year's festival.
